After 12 years of friends and 7 years together, Addison and Kevin opted to tie-the-knot in an intimate and romantic way. With a rustic, beachside elopement in the wilds of Tofino, British Columbia with just their trusty dog by their side it couldn’t have been more meaningful. Surrounded by the magical Canadian landscape of sky, sand, sea and forest, they opted for a moody palette of navy blue, gold and grey to match the nautical-esq tone of the day. Where are each of you from? How did you meet?
We are both from small town British Columbia, we met as teens but did not start dating for 12 years!

How long were you in a relationship before you got engaged and married?
7 years together, 12 years friends :)

Tofino, British Columbia, Canada

Why did you choose your venue?
We chose our beach venue so that we could have a very intimate wedding and have our dog join us as well. The venue (Pacific Sands) offered an amazing boardwalk to the beach point as well.

I am a wedding stationery designer so I did all our stationery myself. I used the moody colours of the west coast to inspire our navy blue and gold theme. I included some greenery and botanical inspired drawings as well. Wax seals, envelope calligraphy and vintage postage completed the look.

Blush Fashion long sleeved tulle dress with the v neck. I added a belt and a logner train of tulle :)

Did you make anything DIY?
A lot of our elopement was DIY - I made all the stationery, the dog collar, the table set up was done by myself.

Our wedding cake was generously gifted to us by an amazing baker @cobblehillcakeco - she makes them with local and organic ingredients and ours was lemon with lemon curd. SO GOOD.

Probably when we went to pop our champagne bottle for the BIG spray photos and not a drop came our. We burst out laughing and made for great photos and a fun memory.

What is one thing you wish you would have known when planning your wedding?
I am lucky enough to work in the wedding industry and I have so many planner friends that helped me along the way that I think I pretty much covered everything!! It was totally stress free on the day :)

What is your number one tip for building a happy relationship?
A strong frienship, and the ability to laugh about (almost) everything.

Where did you go on your honeymoon? (or planning to go)
We have been saving for years for our honeymoon and the destination is still TBD - when it's safe to travel again we are considering Costa Rica or the Medditteranean
