Summer 2020 will forever be remembered as the Summer that changed our lives and the world as we once knew it; however, even in the face of adversity LOVE still remains. We’ve seen people eloping and tying-the-knot in unique and intimate ways despite the odds: so I soldiered on to create this season's collection with LOVE & INTIMACY top of mind!
I started working on the newest collection of BLUSH towards March of this year, after I spent the previous months obtaining inspiration from my beloved clients, who I asked and consulted with to share their hopes, wishes, needs, dreams and desires for the perfect wedding dress!

They told me about the upcoming weddings they were planning for - about the colors they dreamed of, their concerns and doubts, about their bodies and the problems they (think!) they have with them (the parts they like and the parts they like less), about what they want to emphasize and what they want to conceal, about comfort, the style they envision for their “big day”, the spirit of the event itself and about their day-to-day lifestyle.

Of the things that came up, most planned an intimate wedding with a limited number of friends and family, something modest yet exciting - a kind of alternative wedding experience with romance at the forefront. Meeting with loved ones in unexpected places, a spontaneous but perfectly planned event: a forest, a courtyard, in a remote village, a barn, at the beach -- truly magical and whimsical!
I thought about creating dresses that flatter and fit all female body shapes: for women that are more full and ample chested or women with flatter tops that find it harder to find solutions that exist in stores. I checked each and every detail, ensuring my designs hug all the right curves of the female form - emphasizing the areas that my brides love to show-off!

The fabrics we used, in part, are the same classic BLUSH lace favorites we’ve used in seasons past, but this time I combined them with a different lining giving them an entirely different look and feel. Every shade of color under the lace highlights the intricateness of the design, but gives the entire “look” a completely different style, while still leaving the classic ivory color dominant. Creating an interesting juxtaposition of old and new, classic and contemporary!
I also found some newer lace, in a boho vintage style, as we all absolutely love! In addition, I consulted with my assistant Anna, who has a fine taste and uncompromising style, who found delicate lace finishes at local haberdashery dealers to add our signature romantic flare to each design.

Sustainability is also something that is very important to me and leads me in my designs, using pre-existing raw materials that the studio has (off-cuts of seasons past) forces me to make attempts I may have never thought of before, but manages to surprise me every time! This brings me to the concept of "smart" design when older materials are integrated into a new design. It is prevalent in this collection as I took care to maintain the technology of elasticized fabrics for the utmost comfort - a BLUSH wedding dress MUST! My dresses are always designed to make you feel the most comfortable while looking classic, elegant, and most of all, YOU.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this entry, March 2020 came around and my whole country went into lockdown as a result of COVID-19 and it was at this time I made two very important decisions:
- To offer FREE express door-to-door deliveries and work as much as possible from home
While everyone worked at home we sent our seamstresses the fabrics, sketches, and sewing instructions and came out with a stunning collection that was lovingly designed, created, and photographed in my home. Because of this, I am excited to launch my 2020 collection “Homemade”. Lovingly created by me from the comforts and safety of HOME-SWEET-HOME.

Most of my clients who planned their intimate weddings didn’t cancel them and chose instead to wed from home or elope somewhere even more remote! In light of the current state of the world, engaged couples are now looking to more intimate weddings and elopements as a new way of life - BECAUSE LOVE CONQUERS ALL!
I hope you enjoy the new collection.
With love & light,
Sheryll
