Alex and Charles met in Australia, where they both moved to study and work - Alex from the Philippines and Charles from Korea. They quickly became close friends, even before they started dating and now, over 4 years later they recently tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony together with friends and family.
They chose the Laurelbank in Willoughby - a historic home surrounded by beautiful gardens - as the venue, for their shared love of classic and simple beauty.
The wedding color palette was white, red and autumnal flowers, to fit the Australian autumn season.
Alex looked timelessly beautiful in a custom-made, vintage inspired wedding dress by BLUSH Fashion in white satin, with puffed sleeves and open back, paired with a soft glam makeup style to match the dress. Charles also brought classic style, wearing a custom made Lupo Bianco tux.

We are very honored to have been a part of your special day.
Cheers!

Where are each of you from? How did you meet?
How long were you in a relationship before you got engaged and married?
We were together for 3 years and 10 months before getting engaged and dated for 4 years and 3 months before getting married.
Why did you choose your venue?
Both Charles and I love classic and simple. The venue is just that. The venue had a garden area for an intimate wedding ceremony and there is an indoor hall for a simple reception. Their Instagram handle is @laurelbank.willoughby

Who designed your invitations and what was the inspiration behind it?
We used an paperless invitation, Bliss & Bone, to create a beautiful invitation that allows us to easily track RSVPs. Plus, we love their colour and design scheme. :)
How many guests attended your wedding?
85 guests
Did your wedding have a theme? If yes, what was it? :)
Classic and simple. :)
What was your wedding color palette?
It was autumn weather so we wanted to incorporate a lot of red and autumnal flowers, but we wanted to keep everything else white to give the flowers a pop of colour.

What dress did you wear ?
What was your makeup style? And who made you up
I wanted a soft glam makeup style to go with my simple dress. My bridesmaids and I were made up by Monica Batty. @mbmakeuphair
What was your hair style? And who took care of your hair
My hair style was an updo as my wedding dress was right above the neckline. Monica Batty also took care of my hair including my bridesmaids.
What jewelry and accessories did you have? Is there a special story about it?
Dareth Colburn designed our earrings and my veil. I fell in love with her floral designs and how unique her pieces are.
Where did you purchase the wedding rings and why did you choose this style
We chose Van Cleef & Arpels for our wedding rings. We wanted a wedding ring that's gold but not too bright, so VC&A had the best rose gold wedding ring with its unique colour and just blends in with any other accessory you'd wear. Also, their quality of wedding rings and customer service is unreal. They're amazing from choosing the rings all the way to engraving and delivering them to us.
What shoes did you wear ?
I wore a pair Charles and Keith sandals. They were so comfortable that I wore it all day, even during dancing all night.

How did you choose your wedding cake? Who made it?
We actually didn't buy a wedding cake! We wanted wedding cupcakes instead so everyone can choose between vanilla and red velvet flavours. The amazing @meliciouscakehouse made it for us and even used a rose piping with different colours.

What is your favorite memory from that day?
One of my favorite memories was when we walked down the friendship tunnel while our dearest family and friends waved sparklers around. That was a sweet and intimate moment seeing family and friends happy and cheering for us. :)

What is one thing you wish you would have known when planning your wedding?
One thing I wish I would have known is don't be afraid to ask for help! I started out planning on my own and was quite stressed out as I didn't have much experience planning events, let alone a wedding! I reached out to a lot of my married friends and they shared a lot of ideas on what to do and how to do certain things. I also asked one of my dearest friends to be our wedding coordinator. It really helps to have a wedding coordinator that knows you well and they can help you even better that way. :)
