Skyla and Reese’s Outdoor Winter Wonderland Wedding

Skyla and Reese’s Outdoor Winter Wonderland Wedding

Skyla and Reese got both engaged and tied the knot in 2020 - proving LOVE was not canceled this year. The couple loves camping and nature, so an outdoor wedding was the ultimate backdrop for their big day. With a rich navy and gold palette, this quintessential winter wonderland wedding was celebrated with those closest to the couple and live-streamed on Facebook for guests to join virtually from afar. To sprinkle more magic onto this snowflake-filled-affair was unexpected December rain that made everything that much more special. Congrats Skyla and Reese!

All sorts from classic 70’s/80’s rock to today’s hits. We had our guests all provide us with suggestions to make sure everyone was happy.

What dress did you wear ?
I wore the bishop with slit sleeves dress. Didn’t even need to alter it besides shortening the underneath dresses’ straps! I ordered S/M and it was perfect.

What shoes did you wear ?
I wore mukluks that Reese got me as a wedding gift. These are special, as they tie into my Algonquin culture.

What flowers were in your bouquet?
We decided to go with faux flowers that turned out gorgeous. I really wanted navy blue roses and since we would have to dye them we went silk. I am very happy bc the dye would have ended up all over my dress bc of the rain!

Did you make anything DIY?
We had my silk bouquet made, but added some navy baby’s breath to it. Everyone else’s floral (my bridesmaid and flower girls hoops, and the groom and best mans boutonnières were DIY.

All of the chaos! We embraced it. It just made our day that much more memorable.

That intimate is actually better. Covid 19 forced us to go small but it was a silver lining because it was everything!

Communication is so key! Talk about EVERYTHING.

We plan to go on a road trip when things are more safe!
