Hi! My name is Anna Serkiz (@blogatyafa for all you Instagram lovers!) and I’m one of the designers here at Blush Fashion; however, because we’re a small bridal atelier I wear many hats (or should I say veils!?) Read on to learn all about me and my role.

I’ve worked at Blush for the past four years honing and perfecting my trade as a designer. I initially came on board after graduating from a fashion design program (my biggest passion!). My teacher knew Sheryll and put me up for the role and it was a match made in bridal atelier heaven (Sheryll is the B E S T). The rest is history!

My initial position at the studio was in shipping & deliveries and I was also in charge of quality control with our clients. This role really taught me the ins-and-outs of the business and I enjoyed being able to connect directly with our Blush brides on a daily basis. Over time my role has evolved and today I’m in charge of several tasks including (but not limited to) designing together with Sheryll, managing the Blush Instagram page and other day-to-day administrative studio work.
Fashion design is my favorite professional field because it allows me to be freely who I am and to produce and create what I love. In fashion, just like in art, there is no limit to what you can create and that, my friends, is beauty in its purest form!

Here at Blush, I love working alongside our brides to understand their deepest needs and desires so that TOGETHER we can produce the gowns of their dreams. We want our Blush brides to exude happiness and confidence on their special day - and for us - that all boils down to an effortlessly beautiful, comfortable, free-spirited wedding dress.

... Now some more about me…
Outside of working hours I love to travel and explore new and exciting places (although, sadly, we haven’t been doing much travelling lately). I’m also a huge lover of the outdoors and find that nature endlessly inspires and invigorates me (which helps with creating our designs). In addition, I also really enjoy reading and writing (what can I say, creativity runs through my veins!).

These days I’m working on a blog called "You Are Beautiful”, I chose this name because I believe beauty radiates from the inside out and this blog is meant to inspire women - and in the process - myself! In addition to that I also attend collaborative workshops that support and nurture women - including meditation, sound healing, cocoa rituals, full moon rituals and lots of other inspirational programs that help to foster and support a calm and peaceful life and mind.

Even after working at Blush for the past four years, I always enjoy coming into work every single day because no two days are the same and the creative energy of the studio is endlessly inspiring to me. I also think that because I work so hard to maintain a high level of peace and quiet in my personal life (ie: meditation, workshops, etc.) that it helps me constantly with my ability to create!

And, of course, because I love working for and with Sheryll -- she is truly an exceptional employer. She is charming, understanding and just fun to be around. She is full of inspiration and motivation, a very optimistic woman and I find it is very important in the workplace to work alongside someone that inspires and motivates you. Nothing cooler than women supporting women.
What I love most about Blush is that we appeal to a wide clientele. Our designs are simple in nature, which gives them that effortlessly cool, boho appearance that we all know and love - that’s become synonymous with the Blush brand.
