Eilin and Sivert's Unforgettable Oslo Wedding

Eilin and Sivert's Unforgettable Oslo Wedding

 The Beginning
Eilin and Sivert from Norway met in a modern love story fashion—they swiped right on Tinder. Their relationship blossomed over eight years before Sivert proposed on January 6, 2019. After a long engagement, they finally tied the knot on May 8, 2023.

The Venue
The couple chose the Munch Room in Oslo City Hall (Oslo rådhus) for their wedding. The room is adorned with Edvard Munch's famous paintings, providing a breathtaking and unique backdrop for their ceremony. They loved the venue for its beauty and artistic ambiance.

Invitations
Eilin and Sivert opted for simple and unique invitations, avoiding typical designs like eucalyptus. They wanted their wedding to reflect their personalities and keep it accurate to themselves.

Guest List
The wedding was intimate, with only 18 guests, ensuring a close and personal celebration.

Theme and Color Palette
Although the wedding had no specific theme, the couple focused on creating an intimate atmosphere. They chose a fall color palette, which added warmth and richness to their special day.

Attire and Accessories
Dress: Eilin wore a dress that her father bought her in 2020. Sadly, he passed away before the wedding, making the dress even more special and sentimental.
Shoes: Beige open-toe shoes, chosen for their practicality and the possibility of wearing them again.
Jewelry: Eilin wore Lily of the Valley earrings, her father's favorite flower, adding a personal and emotional touch to her attire.
Rings: The couple purchased simple golden rings from a local jeweler in Norway.
Hair and Makeup
Eilin's hairdresser friend styled her hair while Eilin did her makeup, keeping things personal and low-key.

Flowers
Eilin crafted her bouquet with the help of her maid of honor. Although she doesn't recall the specific flowers, the DIY bouquet added a unique and personal touch to the ceremony.

Music and Entertainment
The couple chose to forgo music, allowing the natural ambiance of their surroundings and the intimate conversations to set the tone.

Wedding Cake
In line with their minimalist approach, Eilin and Sivert decided not to have a wedding cake.

Memorable Moments
Eilin's favorite memory of the day was standing and looking out over Oslo, sharing a quiet moment with her husband. This simple, heartfelt moment encapsulated the essence of their wedding day.

Planning Advice
One crucial lesson Eilin learned was to remember her ID. The ceremony was postponed because she forgot it, highlighting the importance of this small but crucial detail.

Relationship Advice
Eilin's number one tip for building a happy relationship is to be honest and communicate openly with your partner.

Honeymoon
The couple decided not to go on a honeymoon immediately after their wedding, choosing instead to enjoy their new life together in Oslo.
