The Inspire Me Series: Brittany Ross Photo

The Inspire Me Series: Brittany Ross Photo

It’s no secret that here at BLUSH, we’re deeply in love with weddings. To say I’m passionate about it is an understatement. But this passion goes further than creating the perfect dress for a bride-to-be, it’s about the incredible amount of talented teams that come together to make someone’s dream come true on their big day. From makeup artists, to photographers, planners, florists, bakers, and everything in between - I’m always in awe and admiration of the artistry and complete dedication people have towards their work. This is why I decided to start the Inspire Me Blush Series, where we will be featuring the talented professionals that make the wedding world go round. I hope this brings you as much inspiration as it continuously does for me.

In the first of the Inspire Me Blush Series, we spoke to Alberta-based wedding photographer Brittany Ross (@brittanyorssphoto) who recently photographed BLUSH Bride’s Alison and Quintin’s socially-distanced backyard wedding. Brittany’s use of natural light and attention to detail yet laid back approach immediately caught our eye. Her subjects always seem relaxed, at ease, and obviously in love. When she photographed Alison and Quinton’s (the bride wore a BLUSH Lace Spaghetti Strap Maxi Dress), what truly stood out to me is the way Brittany captured the sun and light, creating such a powerful mood seeped with a lot of elegance.

What is your favorite part of the wedding to photograph? Getting ready? Ceremony?
It is definitely a tie between getting ready, and the reception. The getting ready is filled with so much excitement and anticipation for the big day, while the reception is full of dancing, laughing and genuine happiness as a result of a wonderful wedding.
