Abigail & Cody’s Woodsy California Boho Wedding

Abigail & Cody’s Woodsy California Boho Wedding

Abigail & Cody’s love story begins adorably, when they met over a game of Dungeons and Dragons.
It seems they both turned out to be winners, and exactly one year later they tied the knot in a small ceremony in southern California, where they are both from. They went with a nature/ boho wedding theme and had a small ceremony in the backyard of a church with acoustic folk music playing.
Abigail was a natural beauty in her ivory wrap lace bohemian wedding dress from BLUSH, paired with simple heels and a special Lionheart pendant she designed herself.
Cody looked dapper in a gray suit and teal tie. Abigail’s favorite memory from that day is her husband’s expression when he saw her walk down the aisle in her dress for the first time, and teared up at the sight.
A warm congratulations to Abigail and Cody!

It was free lol. We plan to renew our vows and do a second wedding once Covid is done and we can have all of our friends and family present.
For now, we wanted something small with our immediate family.

What was your makeup style? And who made you up
Natural. I asked for my makeup to keep to natural tones. I asked a friend of mine who went to cosmetology school
What was your hair style? And who took care of your hair
Simple waves. I asked my local hairstylist to do it.
What jewelry and accessories did you have? Is there a special story about it?
I commissioned a special pendant to accompany my look. The word "Lionheart" (from the song King and Lionheart) is incredibly special to me and is a theme in our relationship. I commissioned a jeweler to make a lionheart necklace that I also designed myself.
Where did you purchase the wedding rings and why did you choose this style
My husband bought my rings from RooRingCo on Etsy and I got his from CaryRingworks from Etsy. We both have a huge loathing for diamonds so we instead decided to get moonstone and sunstone rings for a Sun&Moon theme.
What shoes did you wear ?
Simple heels. They're nothing fancy, especially since my feet were mostly covered due to the dress
What did your partner wear?
Grey suit and teal tie
What flowers were in your bouquet?
Mostly leaves with some wooden flowers and a pheasant feather
Did you make anything DIY?
Nearly everything . The arch, floral arrangement, and setting up the venue was a team effort between myself and my family. We know a lot of talented individuals who helped us with flowers and decoration.

What kind of music was playing? Did you have a playlist?

What is your favorite memory from that day? (I know, it’s hard to pick just one!)
I will forever remember my husband's expression when he saw me walk down the aisle. The first time he saw me in my dress is when I was walking down the aisle and he was tearing up at the sight.

What is one thing you wish you would have known when planning your wedding?
Delegate better. I tried to handle everything myself when I should have reached out more.
.
.
What is your number one tip for building a happy relationship?
Put forth your share of the effort. It takes two to build a relationship, be sure to do your part.
Where did you go on your honeymoon? (or planning to go)
We're getting ready to head over to Japan as soon as conditions permit us.
