Bohemian long sleeves weeding dress

Becca & Saul’s Mountain Chic Micro Wedding

2020 has been a YEAR (to say the least) and Becca and Saul’s original plan of tying-the-knot on a ferry in Florida went belly-up when the boat was hit by a hurricane two weeks before their nuptials! But, fret not Dear Blush Brides, these two lovebirds didn’t let it get in the way of their love. They shifted gears to a stunning rustic cabin wedding in Colorado -- just a two hour drive from their hometown. The perfect Fall boho-wedding-day, Becca and Saul prove that LOVE CONQUERS ALL! Take THAT 2020!
Read on to hear their story.

Where are each of you from? How did you meet?
Becca is from Ashton, Maryland. Saul is from Pensacola, Florida. Fate and a little bit of magic brought us together. Long story short, we met on a plane!
How long were you in a relationship before you got engaged and married?
Friends for ten years. We first dated in 2010, and were reunited and started dating again in 2015. We got engaged in 2018, and married in 2020.
Where did your wedding take place?
In the beautiful backyard of a cabin in Carbondale, Colorado.

Why did you choose your venue?
Our original venue was a ferry boat in Pensacola, Florida. Sadly, they got hit by a hurricane two weeks before our wedding, and our ferry boat was destroyed. Oh, 2020! We ended up finding this cabin on AirBnb that is only a few hours from where we live in Colorado, and decided to just do it. Life is short, and we need to celebrate love with every chance we are given!

How many guests attended your wedding?
Only ten guests! All local friends and family because we didn't want anyone to travel out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our loved ones.
What was your wedding color palette?
Red and Turquoise
What kind of music was playing? Did you have a playlist?
I walked down the aisle to "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong. We played all the playlists we have made for each other over the years throughout the entire day.
What dress did you wear ?
Mini me collection Off-the-Shoulder Ivory Lace and Tulle Dress (matching with our two year old daughter)

How did you choose your wedding cake? Who made it?
Becca has Celiac's disease, so we needed a gluten-free and dairy-free cake, and knew just the place in town. It was made by (coincidentally named) Becca's Gourmet Goodies in Wellington, Colorado. It was a delicious red velvet cake with buttercream frosting!

What is your favorite memory from that day?
(I know, it’s hard to pick just one!)
We wrote the ceremony ourselves, and each wrote each other ten vows for 10/10. My favorite part was hearing Saul read his vows to me!

Our photographer, Ross Daniels, is based in Aspen, Colorado. He is amazing, and is the one who captured our epic proposal at the scenic Maroon Bells.
